About Puss Puss CorsetsPuss Puss is the fashion corset label launched in New Zealand by designer and artist Jill Alexander of Nelson New Zealand We have been manufacturing and selling elegant Edwardian inspired corsets since 2002. These corsets are made in beautiful tapestry fabrics, some heavily embroidered with flowers. The label is sold throughout New Zealand with some exported to Australia, UK and the USA Puss Puss corsets are made in a variety of fabrics from PVC to velvets and satins. The styles are seductive and empowering for any one to wear. The Victorian style has full metal boning and has a traditional ½ cup. Bespoke service.Jill is pleased to fulfil requests for the ultimate "one off" corsets. Just supply us with 1.5 metres of your fabric and we will make a corset just for you! This may be a bridal corset that you may wish to co-ordinate the fabric with the Groom's waist coat or the bridesmaids' dresses. If your fabric is not firm enough it will be mounted to make it suitable for corsetry. Any excess material will be returned to you. If there is a particular part of the print or pattern you wish to have as the centre piece this must be clearly stated when you supply the fabric. Jill Alexander is one of New Zealand's more experienced designers with 25 successful years in the fashion industry after graduating from St. Martins School of Art, London in 1977. She has been involved in major companies in England and as a fashion educator in New Zealand. Jill develops all her designs through drawing and draping on the stand. The shapes for her corset patterns are taken from an historic source and Jill enjoys indulging herself by taking visits to the Victoria and Albert Museum to see the corsets first hand on her travels through Europe.
Body shapes have dramatically changed over the centuries and Jill Alexander uses her years of experience fitting clothes to adapt the fit of these amazing corsets.
